Where’s My Midwife? is a grassroots organization seeking to increase access to midwives in Saskatchewan hospitals, free-standing birth centers and homes through education and advocacy.
In Saskatchewan today only 3 of our 13 Regional Health Authorities offer midwifery programs. Expanding these programs would be in line with our government’s vision for a sustainable primary healthcare system:
“Our vision is a primary health care system that is sustainable, offers a superior patient experience and results in a healthy Saskatchewan population. The strengthened primary health care system will provide a new foundation for health care in this province. It will ensure that everyone has access to a team that meets his or her unique health care needs.” (source)
